Building the paperwork a show runs on, from a working script and a working schedule.
A call sheet, a movement order, a daily progress report, a stripboard breakdown and a petty cash reconciliation, each marked by a production manager. Nobody certifies production in the UK; the Production Guild trains its own members and accredits nobody, so the evidence here is the documents themselves.
Who it is for
For organised people who want a career in production.
Runners who want to stop running: the step to production assistant and then assistant co-ordinator is a paperwork step, and this is that paperwork. Administrators and co-ordinators from events, logistics, healthcare, hospitality or site admin, whose competence transfers and whose vocabulary does not. People who cannot do a physical department: production is a desk, a phone and a long day.

The NFTS lists one-day short courses in Scheduling on Movie Magic and Budgeting on Movie Magic, plus two-day courses on running your own production company.
CrewHQ (opens in a new tab) · free, and paid
The trainee programme at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden includes the production office and finance among its departments. CrewHQ lists it as up to twelve months, free to participants, with paid placements, and no qualifications or experience required.
