Our work
Five pillars.
One of the five is the spine: kit tested between the manufacturer and the unit. It is the work the rest is built on, and it is what pays. The other four are how that is delivered, who it reaches, and what it produces. Most weeks on the unit touch three.

Technical Innovation, STEAM and Applied R&D
The spine. A product goes through a shooting day in the hands of working heads of department and people meeting it for the first time, in the test room at Pinewood. For manufacturers, rental houses and research institutions.

Production Simulation and Industry Workflow Practice
The method. A working unit under pressure: what makes a test credible, what institutions buy, and where a trainee is seen doing the job.

Social Impact Filmmaking, Journalism and Public Discourse
What the unit produces. Independent British film about social issues, developed through the Story to Screen and crewed by people earning a first credit.

Industry, Academia and Supply-Chain Alignment
Who it is delivered with. Modules, short courses, refresher days and bootcamps that keep what is taught level with how units work.

Inclusive Representation, Cultural Safety and Community Access
Who it is for. A route in for people the sector has not reached: faith communities, neurodivergent people, people outside London and outside money. Home of the Faith Inclusion Production Standard.
