A non-profit run by Matt Longley and Michelle White providing preventative wellbeing support embedded in productions — training for production teams and HoDs, wellbeing facilitators on set, consultancy and industry toolkits. It won the first Production Guild Duke of Edinburgh Film and TV Inclusion Award in 2023. It works with productions rather than treating individuals.

ACAS · Any worker in England, Wales or Scotland with an employment problem, including freelancers on contract disputes.

The statutory workplace advice service, giving free impartial advice on rights, rules and best practice, free template letters and policies, and dispute resolution that can reach a legal agreement without an employment tribunal. Everything for an individual is free — go here before paying a solicitor, and before a tribunal deadline passes.

Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) · People in music, film, television and theatre dealing with bullying, harassment or discriminatory behaviour.

An independent standards authority set up to set conduct expectations and support accountability across the creative sector, with a whistleblowing function at whistleblowing@ciisa.org.uk and formal parliamentary recognition as a whistleblowing body. It is not yet a live organisation, so treat it as a route that is being built rather than one to rely on today.

Mark Milsome Foundation · Crew, families and productions concerned with on-set safety standards after a serious incident.

Beyond the safety passport course, the Foundation campaigns on health and safety standards across film and TV through advocacy, education and inclusion, and supports young people entering the industry. It exists because a camera operator was killed on a stunt, which is why it carries weight in an argument about an unsafe set-up.

Raising Films · Parents and carers working anywhere in the UK screen sector.

A community interest company supporting, promoting and campaigning for parents and carers in screen, with guides on production lifecycles, job-sharing and inclusive practice, research including How We Work Now, creative residencies and the Raising Films Ribbon for productions and festivals that meet its standards. Its resources are free to use.

Solas Mind · Crew on productions whose company has bought in the service, and productions wanting on-set wellbeing cover.

Confidential online one-to-one wellbeing support from qualified accredited practitioners, with same-day sessions, on-set and in-house practitioners, multilingual cover and Suicide First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training. It started in film and TV and now lists over 500 partner companies — but access generally runs through your production or employer, not directly.
