The 4,000, and why everything we run is 18 and over
Both things on this site are true at once, and the site should say why. The outreach figure is young people reached in somebody else’s context, not on a Futures in Film programme: the Futures Festival is Pinewood’s event, and the school and university outreach happened at the invitation of a school, a college or a university. In each case the host held the safeguarding duty and supervised its own young people; Futures in Film brought a working unit and answered questions. Its own programmes were 18 and over then and are now, because there is no designated safeguarding lead in post. That is the reason for the age rule, and it changes when a lead is appointed and trained.
