The Pinewood Futures Festival is Pinewood Studios’ own free careers festival. Futures in Film takes a working unit onto a stage for it: working kit, working crew, and a scene being shot.

Who it is for
Adults trying to get in, and the institutions bringing them.
Anyone over 18 who wants to work in this industry, people already working, and lecturers with a class to bring. No bookings for school-age groups: the festival is Pinewood’s event and Pinewood holds the duty for its own visitors, and Futures in Film has no designated safeguarding lead in post, so everything it runs is 18 and over. How the outreach figures are counted.

Bring a group
Colleges and universities bring groups aged 18 and over, with their own staff attending. Festival registration is run by Pinewood.

After the day
The festival is the first stage of a pathway, not a day out.
Awareness, then engagement, then training. The festival is stage one, and most people who come to one never find stage two. This is stage two.

Leave your name
At the stand on the day, or register the same evening. One form covers the courses, the production simulations, the refresher modules and the open days.

You hear when something opens
Including the short free things, which are usually the right place to start.

Start where you actually are
Never been on a set, or working already and after a grade you have not held. The route is different and Start here says which.

If travel is the barrier, say so when you book. Dates are set by Pinewood; register your interest and you are told when ours is confirmed.
