Pillar 04

Industry, Academia and Supply-Chain Alignment

Modules, short courses, refresher days and production bootcamps, taught by working crew on the same package the tests run on, so what is taught stays level with how units run.

On the record

Where we have engaged with education.

Engagement has included NFTS, UCLan, Ravensbourne, London Screen Academy, Into Film, LJMU, UTC Manchester and Manchester Film School: hosted by, supported by or engaged with, without implying endorsement or formal partnership.

A 40-hour module ran ahead of the Pinewood Futures Festival for a cohort from Buckinghamshire New University and London Screen Academy, alongside members of Screen Sisters CIC and Futures in Film: a virtual production shoot in a studio environment with multiple cameras, camera tracking, gimbals, exoskeleton, grip, remote and cranes, around a live show environment.

Who teaches

Taught in the terminology you will hear on the day.

Practitioners

Taught in the terminology you will hear on the day.

Cinematography, camera, lighting, sound, DIT and virtual production, taught the way the departments are run: UK grades, UK terminology.

Both directions

The same practitioners, in both rooms.

The people who teach in the lecture theatre are the people on the unit.

Respect travels both ways.

For the institution

What you get, and what to bring.

Content built with your module leader, and an attendance and completion record for your quality process.
