Courses

Courses, by department.

Taught on the working package by practitioners who are on units now, in rooms small enough that everybody handles the kit. We run this means we deliver it ourselves. Somebody else runs this means the page points you at who does.

Department

Camera

Camera Department

We run this. For would-be camera trainees and 2nd ACs, and working trainees not yet trusted with the mag, the slate or the report. Pinewood.

Shooting on 35mm

We run this, as do GBCT and the NFTS. For camera crew who have never loaded film, and DoPs deciding whether to shoot on it. Pinewood.

AI in the Camera Department

We run this. For working camera crew, DoPs and anyone who signs off rushes. Pinewood.

Gimbal and stabilisation rigs

We run this on our own rigs, for working operators. Steadicam is somebody else’s: Tiffen, CVP and Optical Support are on the module page. Pinewood or your floor.

Department

Lighting and electrical

Lighting and Electrical

We run this, and signpost the apprenticeship that is the recognised route. For people who want to be a spark, and electricians crossing into film. Liverpool.

LED and virtual production: who runs it

We do not run a virtual production course. Mo-Sys Academy and MetFilm School do; both are on the refresher page.

Department

Grip

Grip: who runs it

We do not run a grip course. Grip has a recognised diploma behind it; the page points at the qualification, the branch and the funders.

Department

Sound

Production Sound

We run this. For people who listen: musicians, live and radio sound, and crew crossing over. Pinewood.

Department

Production

Production Office

We run this. For runners who want to stop running, and co-ordinators from other industries. Central London.

Faith-Literate Production Practice

We run this. For production managers, line producers, co-ordinators and location managers who build the schedule. Central London.

Department

Story and development

Story to Screen Intensive

We run this. For writers who start things and do not finish them, and crew who want to originate their own work. Part time, Liverpool, with remote attendance.

Set Ready

We run this. For people who have never been on a set. Look at CrewHQ, named on the page, before you book.

Production Simulation Week

We run this. For crew with a department skill set who have never held the position through a full shooting week, and people coming back after time out. Pinewood.

Refresher modules

We run most of these. For working crew when a format, a workflow or a piece of kit has moved under them. Pinewood or your facility.

Pick a course, or tell us where you are and we will pick one with you.

A few lines on what you have done and what you want to do, read by somebody who works in that department. If the right answer is somebody else’s course we will say so.
